Wellington Pride Festival is producing Kuru Pounamu, the Youth Ball, Out in the City, and the Hīkoi and Pride Picnic. All other events are created by our community.

In this brand-new experimental solo show, join Tim as he explores what it really means to love yourself. Combining rituals, poetry, ancient goddesses, dinner plans, sacrificial shit, queer shit, shit, and facial massage, APHRODI-TIM will take you on a half-baked odyssey in the pursuit of self-acceptance and a slither of sanity.

Accordion Ryan's Pop Bangers
Accordion Ryan's Pop Bangers is a fun-packed hour of popular tunes, played live as you've never heard them before - on the accordion. With a few original musical comedy songs mixed in, you're surely in for a night of fun!

Kuru Pounamu: Opening Celebration
An evening of drag, poetry, waiata, ballroom and laughter - hosted by Dame Jthan of the Tīwhas. Showcasing takatāpui realness and POC excellence - this event is one of a kind and for one night only!

Prowl
Drawing on the divine feminine as a chameleon, witness urban POC artists take the stage, delving into the complex layers of femininity within themselves and one another. Utilising street dance as a potent tool for political expression, these performers confront gender and body politics, challenging colonial legacies and spotlighting indigenous perspectives on gender and femininity, dismantling and redefining the concepts shaped by colonialism.

Nicola Brown - Space Invaders
Join Dunedin comedian Nicola Brown for a journey through the nebula of modern day bullsh*t. In this multi award-winning solo show Nicola navigates medical mayhem, while dodging declarations of love from romance scammers (who've failed to notice how gay she is) and grappling with the extraterrestrial chaos brought about simply by existing as a woman in 2025.

Ginge & Minge Present: House of Ick
House of Ick is bursting at the seams with outrageous characters, c*nty musical numbers, visceral messy sketches, and the best cringe you could hope for.

Fist Club
It's your first meeting of Fist Club, an exclusive underground group of rebel girls & dykonic sapphics who pledge to make men cry and MILF's out of your mums.

Out at the Zoo
Out at the Zoo is a family-friendly weekend, running from the 8th to 9th of March, full of fun activities for our rainbow communities and wider allies.
The theme of Out at the Zoo is ‘celebrating the diversity of the living world – across both animals and people!’

My Carmen: Memories of an Icon
To celebrate Pride this year join guest speaker Edward Cowley and exhibition curator Maddie Brooks Gillespie to hear stories from the life and times of Carmen Rupe, and gain a window into her legacy and the fabulous worlds she created.

Wellington Pride Queer Artists' Morning Tea
Join us for a morning tea of meeting fellow queer artists and building queer art connections.
The first hour will be facilitated by the talented Creatif Kate, while the second hour will be a chill space to hang out and get to know more about those artists that you vibe with.

Street Celebration
The celebration continues into the night with an exciting takeover of Lower Cuba Street. In collaboration with Ivy Bar, we highlight some of Wellington’s best drag performers, DJs, and local talent. This lively street party also features a fantastic food market, offering a taste of the city’s culinary delights.

Ginger’s Lesbian Pop-up Event: Wellington Pride Edition
The first half of the evening will feature an inspiring panel discussion with prominent figures from our rainbow community, who will share their stories and insights on resilience and leadership.
The second half of the evening is all about connection and celebration. Guests can dance, mingle, and enjoy fab entertainment.

Fat Queers Eating Cake
There’s so much strength and solidarity in members of marginalised communities getting together to have a joyous good time. Fat Queers Eating Cake! is a shared meal (please bring food to share, if you’re able), where you can gather with friends old and new, free of any diet talk or body shaming.

Intersex and Transgender Meetup
An informal meetup for intersex, transgender, non-binary and others who are gender diverse, gender queer or gender questioning.

Rainbow Youth Night - Wellington City Libraries (Karori)
Our monthly after-hours Youth Night programme offers rangatahi the chance to explore and become comfortable in our library spaces with no other patrons around; this is a chance for young people to really be themselve in a safe space with no external judgement.

Pride Youth Ball
Hosted by young people with support from the wider rainbow community, the Youth Ball is an annual event for LGBTQIA+ youth aged 13 - 18.
