We are so honored to return to Pōneke by invitation to be part of the longest-standing Pride celebration in Aotearoa, Wellington Pride, on Saturday, 8th March. The event’s location will be revealed exclusively to ticket holders 10 days prior to ensure a welcoming and positive experience for everyone. Rest assured, it’s conveniently located less than 10 minutes by car from the CBD.

The first half of the evening will feature an inspiring panel discussion with prominent figures from our rainbow community, who will share their stories and insights on resilience and leadership. Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to submit questions, creating an interactive and engaging kōrero. (See panel guests further down)

The second half of the evening is all about connection and celebration. Guests can dance, mingle, and enjoy fab entertainment, including:

  • A jaw-dropping performance by Ōtautahi Christchurch-based burlesque goddess Angelah Rose

  • Tauranga Moana musical legend Ayesha Kee on the decks

  • Renowned international music producer and Ōtautahi-based artist Emily C. Browning, performing as Your Girl Richard - DJ

For those who want to meet new people, there will be a Conversation Starter Corner featuring a jar of fun and meaningful questions, as well as a Love Letter Wall that will invite you to read messages from attendees in other cities and leave your own for the next Ginger’s event.

The full bar will be open all night, showcasing beverages from rainbow-friendly suppliers, while the venue will offer delicious food like burgers and nachos for purchase throughout the evening.

To kick off the evening as part of Wellington Pride, we are bringing together some incredible and prominent figures from our rainbow community for a positive kōrero on resilience and leadership. Each of these guests has achieved remarkable success despite challenges, amplifying voices and championing inclusivity and representation in areas where it is most needed.

Ticket holders will also have the opportunity to submit questions ahead of the event to be considered.

Accessibility

Our Ginger’s Wellington Pride event is designed with accessibility at its core. The venue is fully accessible for people with mobility issues, featuring ramps, wide doorways, and accessible facilities. Seating can be reserved for those with mobility or wheelchair needs. A quiet space will be available for anyone seeking a sensory break, and while some parts of the event include flashing lights, a dedicated area without them will also be provided. Certified service animals are welcome, provided they have documentation due to the unique nature of the event space. The menu will include gluten-free and vegan options to cater to diverse dietary needs. If you have specific accessibility requirements, please contact us in advance so we can assist.
