Wellington Pride Festival is producing Kuru Pounamu, the Youth Ball, Out in the City, and the Hīkoi and Pride Picnic. All other events are created by our community.

My Carmen: Memories of an Icon
To celebrate Pride this year join guest speaker Edward Cowley and exhibition curator Maddie Brooks Gillespie to hear stories from the life and times of Carmen Rupe, and gain a window into her legacy and the fabulous worlds she created.

Wellington Pride Queer Artists' Morning Tea
Join us for a morning tea of meeting fellow queer artists and building queer art connections.
The first hour will be facilitated by the talented Creatif Kate, while the second hour will be a chill space to hang out and get to know more about those artists that you vibe with.

Street Celebration
The celebration continues into the night with an exciting takeover of Lower Cuba Street. In collaboration with Ivy Bar, we highlight some of Wellington’s best drag performers, DJs, and local talent. This lively street party also features a fantastic food market, offering a taste of the city’s culinary delights.

Wellington Bisexual & Pansexual+ Meetup Group
Come meet and socialise with other fellow bi+ people in a calm and casual platonic environment.

Wellington Pride Parade
Wellington's renowned Courtenay Place and Dixon Street serve as the perfect stage to celebrate our vibrant creativity and distinctive culture. The parade invites everyone to either participate or revel in the excitement of the energetic crowds.

Summer of Ramps: Pride Edition Ngā Wīra Iti Collective
Join this skate park meetup including a Roller Pride Parade along the Marine Parade Waterfront path, as well as shared kai and kōrero.

Intersex and Transgender Meetup
An informal meetup for intersex, transgender, non-binary and others who are gender diverse, gender queer or gender questioning.

Rainbow Youth Night - Wellington City Libraries (Karori)
Our monthly after-hours Youth Night programme offers rangatahi the chance to explore and become comfortable in our library spaces with no other patrons around; this is a chance for young people to really be themselve in a safe space with no external judgement.

Celebration of Queer Spirit Church Service
All are invited to this special morning of celebrating the diversity across God's creation! Coinciding with the Wellington Pride Festival, this service will be a bit different from our normal Sunday worship service, with adapted liturgies, prayers, and songs that celebrate those that don't fit into the neat and tidy boxes which society so often prescribes.

Walktours NZ: The fabulous Carmen walk tour
Join us on this free 90-minute community walk-tour as we trace Carmen's Wellington years (1967-1980).
Learn about Carmen's landmark 1966 court case, her race to become Mayor of Wellington in the 1970s, and how she supported and offered a safe harbour to Wellington's Takatāpui LGBTQIA+ Rainbow communities.

Pride Hīkoi
Come down for a solidarity march with our trans* and gender minority whānau for rights to gender-affirming healthcare. The energy of our Hīkoi focuses on the Government’s recent push to restrict access to puberty blockers.

Pride Picnic
Join us as we conclude the Wellington Pride Festival 2025 with a vibrant community picnic! This is a wonderful opportunity to gather with friends and whānau in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
